Our commitment
RentGuide is committed to making rentguide.io accessible to people with disabilities. We design and build with accessibility in mind and we iterate when we learn something isn't working for someone.
Standards we target
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We use these as our internal standard and check new pages against them before publishing.
Accessibility features
The site is built with the following in mind:
- Semantic HTML so screen readers can navigate by landmarks and headings
- A "skip to content" link at the top of every page for keyboard users
- Focus styles that meet WCAG contrast requirements on interactive elements
- Color combinations selected and tested for AA contrast against the backgrounds they appear on
- Plain-English text where possible — we try to avoid jargon
- Responsive layout that works at 320px wide and scales without horizontal scrolling
- Form fields with associated labels (in the admin area)
Known limitations
The site is built and maintained by a small team. Where we know of limitations, we will list them here and work to fix them:
- Third-party content embedded from partner sites (such as logos uploaded by advertisers) may not always have ideal alternative text. We are working to backfill descriptive alt text.
- Some partner sites we link to may not themselves meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are not able to fix issues on sites we do not operate, but we will flag concerns to the partner where practical.
Reporting a problem
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on rentguide.io — or you'd just like an alternative way to read or use a part of the site — please let us know. Email accessibility@rentguide.io with:
- The URL of the page where you ran into the issue
- A short description of what happened and what you were trying to do
- The assistive technology you were using, if any (e.g. screen reader, voice control), and the browser and operating system
We aim to respond within 5 business days. For urgent matters, mention "urgent" in the subject line.

If you'd prefer the content of a specific page in a different format — plain text email, large-print PDF, or something else — email accessibility@rentguide.io and we'll do our best to accommodate.
